I've been watching Disney movies, playing with Disney action figures and going to Disney parks for as long as I can remember. Growing up my family lived right outside of Los Angeles, and we were about an hour drive away from Disneyland. Disney has always been a part of my life, my parents had annual passes, and once we (my 2 older sisters Amanda, Hanna and I) were old enough, we got one too. My mom homeschooled us, and my dad ran his own business, so we had the freedom to go to Disneyland anytime we pleased. I loved the days my mom would wake us up early and surprise us with a day at Disneyland! It didn't matter how many times we went there, or even if we had gotten older, the magic that only a Disney park has was always there.
The photo above was me and my Dad in Disneyland, taken in 2002 on my 7th birthday. Whenever I was asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, Disneyland was always my first choice, what better place to celebrate than the Happiest Place on Earth?
In 2008 my parents told me, my 2 older sisters, and my younger sister (Olivia, 7), that we were moving to the Gulf Coast of Alabama. It was a shock at first, but it was better for my Dad's business, my grandparents lived there, and it was only an 8 hour drive to Disney World! By 2010 we were completely moved in and me, Olivia and my parents had annual passes to Disney World (Amanda and Hanna went to college in Birmingham, so they didn't get one). Obviously it took a lot more planning to go to Disney World, but we were able to surprise Olivia a couple of times.
Just recently my parents, once again, announced a move, but this time to Orlando, Florida! We've barely even started packing, but I am really excited to be a short drive away from a Disney park again! Once we live in Orlando I will be able to post about the newest attractions and exciting things going on in Disney World.
